  • Stella Mares and Flemish are nearby beaches. Both are good but the second (at least when I visit) is more lively and has a younger audience. Has more sophisticated tents, ms is pretty cool.

  • The last days of my vacation I am hosting me there. A dream! The sea a dangerous thing but must learn to look the part more calm or the low cdo pools for the tide. Tempered and very wide beach. A paradise!

  • During my stay in Salvador, visited this beach two days in a row. The sea is agitated but when the tide is low, order some piscininhas on the edge near the sand is ideal to enjoy a swim. The water is clean and in some parts, transparent. Many options to sit in tents that vie for customers offering amenities like free beach kit. Have stalls but well less than on most of the beaches of Salvador. Prices a bit salty but I went on Carnival season so everything is overpriced. I found a well structured Beach (with shower and restaurants) and well attended, with many families with children, thinking of the sea not to be recommended for them without those responsible are present (by the force of the waves). I will be back when I can. Recommend!

  • I liked the praia do Flamengo, despite offering some security risks. There is no policing, on the other hand we must be attentive to situations or you can suffer with some vandals. The Earth is so small and the place fills up on sunny days, even on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday, but that's because Salvador has a population of more than 3 million inhabitants, the local access through public transport is possible , so the number of bathers and visitors increases and.

  • Amazing Beach especially during the week, where the largest movement and surfers, for those who like to enjoy the tranquility of the sea. Weekends it's frequetada, but it's still wonderful.

  • Beautiful location, good beach frequented, not only deserves 5 stars thanks to local violence.

Where to stay in Salvador

The majority of accommodations in Salvador fall into three distinct groupings. If you want to be close to the best historical attractions, stay in or near the old town of Pelourinho, a few minutes from the city's west-facing coastline. This also puts you in the heart of Salvador's tourist-driven nightlife. Your second option is to stay at the southwestern tip of the city, in the neighborhood of Barram, where you'll have instant access to one of Salvador's favorite beaches. Finally, look a bit farther afield to Rio Vermelho, a quieter beachside neighborhood facing south.
