  • Great ride. Beautiful place, nice people. I was very well attended by Adriana who was very attentive to me and my nephew (8 years). Explained everything in great detail. Congratulations to Jorge Amado House and all who work to keep alive and unique place.

  • A wonderful site, offers the intimacy of the couple Jorge Amado and Zélia Gattai, showing your home, your belongings and the objects accumulated over the course of several trips around the world. I'm not going to say how many countries they met not to advance the purpose of the visit. Worth visiting, Valley spare more time, because they are more 30 h audio visual.

  • Red River's House, where he lived for many years the couple Jorge Amado and Zelia Gawain is wonderful! I loved learning more about their lives, mediation is very good! We were met by Adriana Dhil, which was super nice and explained everything in detail. Recommend.

  • The house where Jorge Amado spent most of his life with his wife, now a museum with rich collection of his memories.. Access is very easy by car, and walking distance from near by bus stop. Is very well organized and staff helpful and ready to provide for answer to your questions, the house is divided in many rooms with audio visual display. Wednesday is free admittance. Don't forget to mingle in the gardens with many native trees and beautiful orchids! Elevator for disabled and easy parking near by street.
  • It was fun and i learned a lot about Brazil as well.
  • Lots to explore. I didn't know anything about George Amado but now I know how his kitchen and bedroom looked like. It was a cool place to see. Seems like a good source of information on Bahian culture.
  • Good to see if you know Jorge Amado or are interested in Bahian culture. The gardens are great and the house itself is pretty impressive, but lacks lots of things from how it originally was. One of the guides speaks English. Can be difficult to park on the street, normally full.
  • Well preserved, immersive and interactive. A highly insightful look into Jorge & Zelia's lives, loves and inspirations. Free on Wednesdays too.
