  • A small museum was set up in the former home of Jorge Amado and Zélia Gattai. The yard is fantastic! If you like art and literature book a whole afternoon to be delighted with matching Jorge, ceramics of the couple. If this is not your case, run to the Mall: this tour is not for you.

  • I went to meet Salvador during my vacation in January 2017. I had the opportunity to meet several points of interest, but my vacation just got complete, when showed up at the House of the Red River of the Writer Jorge Amado and your wife, the writer Zélia Gattai. On this visit we have the opportunity to learn a little of life and how it was the daily life of these two important writers of our brazilian literature. In a few hours we tour by monitors extremely attentive. The day I went to visit, the entry was free and the tour began at 11 A.M.. We have a small notion of what was the daily life of writers, from his travels around the world, the works of art that writers won and purchased, there is a beautiful garden and well taken care of, where, in fact, the writers ' ashes were thrown. For environments with the display of videos with statements from critics and family members about the work of the writers. It was very enriching to have had the opportunity to have a greater sense of respect and devotion that the writer Jorge Amado was the Afro-Brazilian culture, by the candomblé, the woman, by black. Who is to visit Bahia and want to know the essence of the people, you have to read the works of Jorge Amado and go visit the home of the Red River. Is a visit not to be missed!
