Where to stay in Salvador

The majority of accommodations in Salvador fall into three distinct groupings. If you want to be close to the best historical attractions, stay in or near the old town of Pelourinho, a few minutes from the city's west-facing coastline. This also puts you in the heart of Salvador's tourist-driven nightlife. Your second option is to stay at the southwestern tip of the city, in the neighborhood of Barram, where you'll have instant access to one of Salvador's favorite beaches. Finally, look a bit farther afield to Rio Vermelho, a quieter beachside neighborhood facing south.

  • Shows rich of Angolan culture in Bahia and Brazil. The only problem is that it's next to the gravatá, quite dangerous region, where several shootings, it's risky to be shot by baja lost. I don't recommend it because of the location.

  • In a little square of Gravatá corner Street to Baixa dos Sapateiros, this cultural centre is set in a beautiful 17TH-century colonial mansion and has as a mission to deepen ties (already strong) between Bahia and Angola. Has the library, temporary exhibition rooms (air-conditioned) and a garden in the funds used for events. Promotes lectures and displays films and exhibitions Senegal: struggling themed. It is necessary to schedule visit the site to see the attraction.
