  • This significant theater was one of the first to be built in the time of Colony Brazil. Is located in Rua d. Pedro II, unfortunately, is closed for renovation. But it's worth going through it and take a picture ara register the visit.

  • Beautiful and full of history. It is possible to sit on the bench in which Pedro sat down to visit him. The acoustics are considered the best of the theatres of Latin America

  • I met him for a tour of the city. It is very interesting the architecture of a typical theatre of the imperial period, so who's never been in one, is worth knowing.

  • The Opera House-Teatro Municipal (Rua Dom Pedro II) is the second oldest theatre of Brazil, in operation. Has in its architectural lines, the influence of the theatres of the reign of Elizabeth I, so it is also known as Elizabethan Theater. The first building was built before 1771 and worked until around 1783. The second the Opera House was inaugurated on 02 June 1819, during the festivities of the birth of the "Princess of Beira," Dona Maria da Glória of Portugal. In it, worked the big companies of the age: artistic The House received the visits of the Emperor Dom Pedro I (1831) and Dom Pedro II (1881). Its internal architecture has Italian influence, with layout of cabins in three galleries. Has excellent acoustics and is in full activity.
