Church in neoclassical style, has beautiful stained glass Windows and rosacea. It has gargoyles in your facade (always ´ good scare evil spirits!). The altar of the central nave, made in the city of Caxias do Sul, is in carrara marble and pasted with paste of whale.

Where to stay in Rio Grande

The area around the old dock offers the greatest number and variety of accommodations in Rio Grande, with pastel-colored family-owned hotels among the most charming options. Modern stand-alone hotels become more frequent as you step away from the water and the historical dock, with prices varying between them depending on amenities and ocean views. Hostels and guesthouses provide the budget options in this popular part of town. If you're looking to keep the cost down, consider staying at one of the hotels in the largely residential area to the west.
