RioZoo - Rio de Janeiro's Zoo, Rio de Janeiro

(2.5/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
The RioZoo - Rio de Janeiro's Zoo has housed animals since the 1800s, when it was a major attraction for the city. Nowadays, you can still see the proud pachyderm stuffing its mouth with hay and the statuesque giraffe winking at you with a big brown eye. Apart from the standard fare of African species, such as the lion and ape, you'll see native mammals and birds. For example, the sloth drapes itself in the branches for a long nap, while the macaws chatter in the distance. Take the kids to the petting zoo to feed farm animals, or watch the crocs pop out of the water during feeding time. Avoid the restaurants inside the park to save some cash; instead, opt for a picnic on one of the lawns. • On the last Sabbath day April 8, I was in Rio zoo with my family. So that everyone could get rented a bus and took my whole family, arriving at the Zoo, right at the entrance he was asked to take our pictures, we split up into small groups and they photographed and said the following phrases "take photos before leaving" in time to get out of the zoo, we spent to get the pictures that we were informed that each cost 30.00 reais. That and absurd! they should have called the value of the picture in the memento that were taking photos and not after that were revealed just waiting for us. Pay for some pictures, but think a lack of respect they do..

  • Perfect to walk with children. Facilities include parking, paid 15.00. We were able to enter the nursery of birds and is an opportunity to teach and show children animals they are not accustomed to seeing such as flamingos. Has a small farm, where children have the opportunity to ride a pony and feed the goats, which was what my little more liked.

  • Animals kept in spacious and comfortable, they are not very much .
  • Please, DO NOT visit this zoo. its horrible. the animals are going insane with boredom. They have no stimulation, barely any shade and there is an entire section where the animals have been abandoned without fresh water and only vultures for company. this place is a disgrace
  • Not a better or worse zoo than others. If you like zoos and you are ok with merciless kids screaming at bored animals this zoo is a good place to be.
  • Ok
