RioZoo - Rio de Janeiro's Zoo, Rio de Janeiro

2.7
#33 of 70 in Parks in Rio de Janeiro
The RioZoo - Rio de Janeiro's Zoo has housed animals since the 1800s, when it was a major attraction for the city. Nowadays, you can still see the proud pachyderm stuffing its mouth with hay and the statuesque giraffe winking at you with a big brown eye. Apart from the standard fare of African species, such as the lion and ape, you'll see native mammals and birds. For example, the sloth drapes itself in the branches for a long nap, while the macaws chatter in the distance. Take the kids to the petting zoo to feed farm animals, or watch the crocs pop out of the water during feeding time. Avoid the restaurants inside the park to save some cash; instead, opt for a picnic on one of the lawns. • I have a lot of people who will pass the 30 hj there ... this time I took my son with the information that there were improved, revitalized ... look ... I'm sorry ... for those who never saw, may even find good, but who met the past few days, improved is true but loooong little , by which make propoaganda private enterprise has invested and blah blah blah ... or invested little, or more a case of deviation in this country. Want to see abundance in birds and monkeys, is great .... the rest .... rez to be willing, agreed, and even have. Ah, cost benefit? It's expensive for what it offers.

  • I met the Zoo before being administered by private company. Was very abandoned, although some companies apadrinhassem some animals. 03/01 day I went to the zoo with my grandchildren and I was surprised with the place. All painted, active animals were the joy of children. The animals that children loved were the lion, the bear, Penguin ... Created a hotbed of birds that fly free and people enter into it. The place has accessibility and large bathrooms. There are several Food Trucks, ice cream. Park with inflatable toys. When it's too hot a few shower the kids are washed in it. It's a place where you can spend the entire day.

  • A great place to take the kids. Many varieties of birds, turtles and monkeys. And like any good Zoo the cats are the major attractions. The elephants with your enchanting children sized. Didn't have the giraffe because died due to age. And the Hippo in the water due to the heat. And we can see other animals. Is having the "summer project Falconry", very interesting to learn about the lives of these animals and most importantly included in the ticket. There is parking and entrance to the zoo. Parking is ample. RECOMMEND!!!!

  • I eb 7lgi0he hù gr . in fact I
  • Nice place Clean place Good for Pokémon go Variety of animals are there. Green place
  • The day we visited there was a long line in front of the entrance, don't know if it's a usual thing or not. Loved to see the exotic birds! It's a great place to bring kids.
  • Certainly getting better after being sold to a private company. Animals are being taken care, apparently. Still really small and overall depressing.
  • The Zoo was renovated, but apart from a couple of decent playgrounds and a small farm, it looks the same. It is a nice place for a Sunday morning if you don't mind seeing captivated animals.

Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
