Rio Zoo, Rio de Janeiro
(1.1/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
The Rio Zoo has housed animals since the 1800s, when it was a major attraction for the city. Nowadays, you can still see the proud pachyderm stuffing its mouth with hay and the statuesque giraffe winking at you with a big brown eye. Apart from the standard fare of African species, such as the lion and ape, you'll see native mammals and birds. For example, the sloth drapes itself in the branches for a long nap, while the macaws chatter in the distance. Take the kids to the petting zoo to feed farm animals, or watch the crocs pop out of the water during feeding time. Avoid the restaurants inside the park to save some cash; instead, opt for a picnic on one of the lawns. • We went to the Zoo but is not a good Zoo, the entrance is 10 reais per person, children also because only less than 1 meter do not pay, so we were 6 people and we paid 60 reais to not see almost anything. The Zoo of João Pessoa and Recife whose entries are real 2 I think are as good as or even better. The part of the chimps you look from far away are you allow to be on the sidewalk not to stress them. The part about the cats left much to be desired, it seems that many died so there were various cages empty. What you can't complain there is to see Parrot, but who's going to the Zoo to see Parrot!? Kangaroo? Camel? Tigers!? All are on the site of the zoo with photos of 2010, why not update it? Has no animals. The zoo of Beto Carrero World even gives a concert on that one and standing there you don't pay anything to see the zoo. Actually, left something to be desired. The outside is beautiful, very green and space, but that's all.

  • I went to the zoo of rio Metro, super easy arrived, all very well signposted, the bad thing is that from the station to the zoo there is a large park, which is beautiful, but we walked so much and with much heat that at one point I wanted to cry, but arriving at the zoo, all change is very cute the aviary, and each area d and animals , all is clean well

  • Visit the Zoo today and a cause for great sadness, in seeing how this abandoned. In my childhood, was the favorite show of my family. Currently unkempt, dirty and dangerous.
