  • The beach is very quiet reserve in order to have room to spare. Rarely gets crowded like Ipanema on Sundays (I've never seen). The problem is that the sea is very agitated so that has no custom of bathing in the waves and the wind, which sometimes punish.

  • I'm often at this beach because it is more reserved and usually have a more clean water. It's hard to see guada-lives in this region.

  • Unlike certain points of the beach in Rio who suffer enough with pollution, mainly due to stormwater spills, the beach of the buffer remains in excellent condition all the time. On weekdays can become even deserted at times. The swimmer who appreciates tranquillity and a fully preserved environment should prioritize the reservation.

Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
