Recreio dos Bandeirantes Beach, Rio de Janeiro

4.6
With its sweeping arc of soft white sand, blue ocean, and palm trees, Recreio dos Bandeirantes Beach is everything you’d expect from a Brazilian beach, but without the crowds. You can pick a spot, settle down, and, due to legislation restricting the height of nearby buildings, peacefully enjoy the sunshine well into the afternoon. There is, however, a good chance you might end up an extra in a Brazilian soap opera as scenes are regularly filmed on the beach. The wide boardwalk is great for a stroll and lined with kiosks, where you can buy cold beer, fresh coconut water, and tasty snacks. • For those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of Central beaches, this is a beautiful thing. Is in the region of the bar, and is a safe beach. But don't think that is empty on sunny days intense the beach is full, but nothing compared to Copacabana and Ipanema.

  • If you're in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes Beach, with a little luck you can find a recording of the Globe or the Record, because this is the beach that the novels are written. In addition, the Recreio dos Bandeirantes Beach is the healthiest of the city, because it is not found any kind of pollution. It is also on this beach the whales and orcas are paraded before the crowd of sunbathers and inquisitive. The sights of the city, the beach views are stunning, as you can see in the distance the beach of Barra da Tijuca and the hills of Gávea and two brothers. It is worth visiting this beach which is one of the most chic neighbourhoods of the city. Is the neighborhood of famous football players, singers and tv actors.

Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
