  • 15TH square has it all: historical attractions (Paço Imperial, Tiradentes Palace); musical and gastronomic festivals (foodtrucks); restaurants; products used (on Saturdays), etc. That's where the pier of the boats and catamarans to Niterói. The pier itself has a very nice restaurant, where I had lunch already dozens of times with friends and where some groups get together to take a beer while waiting for the ferries. As everywhere in the open in Rio, I recommend caution, because it has many smaller ones.

  • This large square is very broad and has a couple of very beautiful monuments. One is the equestrian statue of the Emperor of Brazil Pedro II. I liked this space because there is the imperial palace where he spent much of the history of the Kingdom and the Empire along the s. XIX. Also the beautiful church of the King, who was Cathedral until was inaugurated the new. Paqueta and Niteroi boats also leave from this square.
