Ponte Rio-Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro
(3.8/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
At the time of its construction, Ponte Rio-Niteroi was the second longest bridge in the world, and, although it has since slipped down in the rankings, it is no less impressive a structure today. 13.29 km (8.25 mi) long and reaching a height of 72 m (236 ft), the bridge offers an expansive cityscape of Rio de Janeiro, including the downtown skyline and Sugarloaf Mountain. To get a sense of the scale of the bridge, take the ferry and view it from the water.
