Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.

  • Praça do Squeegee is ideal for taking the kids to have variety of toys at a great price. Around the toys got fast food. Is a delight!

  • We are a tourism blog ViagemsemEscalas.com and we recommend the tour. On the West side of the River, just to get there by car. To roll cab or Uber, but it may be that the phone does not take because the signal is weak (careful not to stay up). Place of deserted beaches and clean. Frequented by surfers, and this site remains intact. There's several options of sports and places that offer surf lessons and Stand up. Ideal to spend the day and relax with Sun and beach. Bring water, snacks and sunscreen. There are bars and restaurants because of the increasing number of tourists. But trade is limited. Get back before dark. Many streets are very small and poor lighting in some stretches.
