Enjoy the vistas and some fresh air at Pedra Bonita, a popular spot in Tijuca National Park, sandwiched between Pedra de Gavea hills and Sao Conrado and Tijuca. Follow a 1.5 km (1 mi) uphill trail for about 40 minutes; once at the top, you'll take in some of the most privileged views of Rio de Janeiro. Towering above Tijuca Park's forest at 696 m (2,283 ft), this spot draws scores of hang gliders. Head to the top of the gliding ramp for a restroom and a small bar. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Rio de Janeiro holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Pedra Bonita and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The beautiful stone trail begins just before the ramp of free flight, on the underside of the visitors ' parking lot. To get there, you can go up by car and pay $ 5 to park or walk, from the road of the canoes. My boyfriend and I we go up by car, but I believe it is a half an hour of ascent for those who prefer to walk. We waited about half an hour to get up the path that leads to the parking lot. I believe the sooner the better, we arrive at around 12:00. A person is organizing the entry and authorizing the ascent, which is coordinated with the descent into the cars don't meet in opposite directions along the way. The instructors they stick to queue, because they have a private parking. From the parking lot to the visitors, we take 25 minutes to go up the trail without stops. The road is quiet and well marked. Is a little steep, which ends up getting tired, but it's not a difficult track. It is very possible even for those who are not used to it. It's nice to go to sneakers or shoes suitable for no slip, of course. It is also important to take at least one bottle of water, since there's nothing to sell up there. Have a "bar" in the parking lot, but the prices can be a little salty. From the top the view is very pretty, almost 360. You can see the southern and Western areas, and is right in front of the Pedra da Gávea. The top is very large, so even if it is full, you can circulate and take pictures with ease. You can have a picnic! It's a great time for sunny days on the River (but be careful with heat and effort!). It was worth it!

  • Very light trail of approximately 45 minutes, great for who's starting, compared the Pedra da Gávea she is quieter, and is close to the flashes of hang gliding, takeoff also can go enjoy the flights!
