  • Has some history the Church is very old. Time to jerk the whole street is decorated and there's a party on the spot.

  • Linda Church. I'm an Antonio too (although I don't use the name, I got because I was born on the day of St. Anthony), when I was born, my mother lived on Senate Street, nearly opposite to that Church and she tell the first contractions were felt in the ringing of the Bell of the daybreak of Santo Antônio, day 13 of June. It's not the most opulent Church in the city (the river has dozens of churches very, very, very opulent), but it is very beautiful and very well cared for by the brotherhood. The traces of the past, exposed under glass on the ship, make a visit interesting to anyone, not just for the faithful.

  • On the street we will find this peculiar des Invalides Church and although it's very discrete, on the Central.

  • Beautiful church, having your first temple was built in 1811, in 1831 a new temple was erected in Baroque style, going through reforms in 1854 and in 1940 new works of reconstruction give the characteristics present in neo-romantic style. In 2011 the construction of Senate Business Centre (PETROBRAS), causes concussions in the structure of the Church, and also causes cracks in the walls and the floor. The repairs lasted for 3 years, and during the works was discovered the original floor of the Church, which is 1, 20 m below the current, then decide to preserve the original floor as archaeological find exposed to the public with the protection of a glass floor supported by a metallic structure, which became an attractive. The Church is dedicated to charity and social assistance focused on poor people who seek it. Despite the revitalization of the area and of the movement, the street in front of the Church is too dirty of feces and uneaten food.

  • Beautiful temple, place of peace up to agnosticos and atheists.

  • Beautiful church very frequented by devotees of St. Anthony. A little away from the historic city centre script.

Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
