Specialty Museum Museum
Museum of Modern Art houses one of the most comprehensive collections of modern and contemporary Brazilian art, as well as having a significant international presence. As you explore the exhibition space, venture into the beautiful garden on the patio, which boasts an abstract landscape designed by Brazilian architect Roberto Burle Marx. Marx is also responsible for the beautiful gardens of Parque do Flamengo that surrounds the museum. With rows of angled concrete ribs and large windows designed by a pioneer of modern architecture Affonso Reidy, the building itself is a work of art and will leave you with a lasting impression. Inside you'll also find a cinema, photography exhibits, and the Laguiole Restaurant, which infuses French and Brazilian cuisine. Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.

  • Iconic building must visit of Rio by architect Affonso Eduardo Reidy surrounded by the Burle Max Flamengo Park.
  • We took uber there, it is not in a walking distance from every tourist place you might be. We checked before that Sunday's and Holidays was old anyway. It wasn't today. čśíčśí
  • Although small, the MAM have a really interesting collection and events. The building is also beautiful.
  • Awe-inspiring architecture in scenic setting paves the way to the spectacular modernist art inside. A must-see for locals and tourists.
