The site also includes a mausoleum holding the remains of servicemen of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force who died in action in Italy during World War II. • The monument is in a nice Park with wide open space and contains a museum dedicated to the dead of World War II. Aside from the Museum is worth more than anything else worth climbing on the terrace to watch the Center or stay down to watch the monument in its entirety.

  • Inside the monument is told all the campaign of Brazil's participation in World War II, with reports, maps, plays, movies, audios and the high point of the visit the 468 tombs, which were brought from Italy, of our brave soldiers who died for an ideal of democratic freedom. Works from Monday to Sunday, from 9:00 to 17:00 hours, with free admission. WORTH KNOWING.

  • At the same time it is a tourist attraction and very beautiful, both the architecture and the beautiful landscape, is also a historical site and a lot of respect. The monument has a Museum of World War II, a chapel and mausoleum of soldiers dead in Italy FEB. I recommend everyone to visit, enjoy and meet this historic moment of Brazil.

  • To all my fellow runners out there, there is a good cycling track behind the monument, that goes all the way down to the beaches on south. Worth giving a try on weekend mornings.
  • It gives you a nice view of Guanabara Bay. However, the monument contains little information about Brazilian participation in WWII. You can walk to here from the modern museum of art close by (it takes few minutes).
  • A tiny but important museum on the participation of Brazil in the WWII. A place to reflect and to take awesome pictures.
  • Ok.
  • If you like history and you respect the soldiers this holly site is a must.
