Beach Nature / Park
Sandwiched between the mountains, Mirante da Prainha offers a tranquil, clean, and isolated escape from Rio's bustle. Look for the regular Surf Bus in Rio if you don't have a car to get here. You may see some cameras on site at this favorite shooting location for television. Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.

  • This probably the best restaurant I had a chance to try in Brazil both for its food and its stunning view. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio!
  • Wonderful view of the rocks and sea. You can feel the waves like a surfer. Excellent fish and beers.
  • The best food I had in Rio!
  • This restaurant is located to the right of the edge of the Beach on the road that goes to the Praia de Grumari. Is in an area of environmental preservation, surrounded by greenery and mountains framing a sea of crystal clear waters. The view from the Gazebo compensates for the difficulty of getting a spot to park the car. I suggest you avoid the weekends and holidays. Recommend.
