  • We were by chance on last Monday, 03 July day was a pleasant surprise. We went to dinner at the Victoria River, a restaurant that we have recommended. The Victoria is within the Jockey Club and has a balcony from which one can see the races. Also has a big screen. Everything we ate was wonderful and the petit cat was the best I've ever eaten. Unfortunately our holidays were at the end. When we return, this should be our dinner every night. I don't know about the other days, but in the second we were able to follow several races while we were out having dinner. The parking lot, to enter the Jockey Club, is charged. There is a discount for those who validate the ticket at the restaurant.

  • The jockey of Rio de Janeiro is beautiful! It's quite enjoyable to watch the racing, bets are for those who understand ... Great restaurants, recommend an afternoon with friends and family on a sunny day and blue sky! :-)

  • One of the traditional points of the bourgeoisie and the Carpenter in the second half of the 20TH centuries, the Jockey Club still keeps some of your glamour. In addition to the spaces, restaurants and racing, the visiting stays open for the curious.

  • A nice place to feel a little bit of old Rio glamour, and perhaps meet some of those who witnessed it, since the squad in the betting hall are mostly 70+. It is a nice place to spend the end of an afternoon, see a couple of races, the jockeys, the horses, and perhaps end the night in one of the pricey restaurants that can be found within the club's "territory".
  • Here are the best parties during carneval. Make sure to buy tickets early as they get more expensive with time.
  • Attended Feira Hype during GP Brazil.
  • For those who likes to bet on horses racing it's great but if you don't you can just admire the beautiful place. In addition to betting area, inside the Jockey you can also find bars, restaurants, club, gym, yoga school, theatre, bank branch, temporary exposition and fairs salon, and parking.

Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
