  • The Botanical Garden is a very nice place where you can connect with nature and with a piece of the history of Brazil. The site is still very well maintained and brings several species of plants from all over the world. The local environment is usually milder than the rest of the city of Rio de Janeiro, the high concentration of plants, as well as the rivers and waterfalls present. For lovers of nature is a very complete stroll, without having to leave town.

  • Absolutely beautiful. This is a must visit if you are in Rio. The entire place is gorgeous and full of wildlife. The monkeys are awesome. It really does feel like your a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of Rio. The restaurant is great (although slightly more pricey than outside the gardens). Worth noting that your entrance fee gets you admission twice in one day so you are able to pop out and grab a bite to eat or a coffee locally. It’s a wonderful area.
  • A fantastic location to get away from the noise and business of Rio. It's a lovely walk enclosed with incredible views of Rio's sprawling vistas and local wildlife. There are some beautiful pieces of art dotted around the gardens to break up the green which only adds to your experience. There is a cafe situated at the far end of the garden is a great stop off to get some food and drink.
  • A lovely garden with restaurants inside and around, convenient parking at the Jockey Club across the street. It's over 200 years old and one of the top botanical research institutes in Brazil. Nice for a leisurely stroll.
  • Wide place with exotic interesting plants. Easy to get lost even with the map you will be provided at the entrance. Staff do not speak english, but they are willing to help you. Depending on the time of the year you are visiting, the orchids pavilion could be full or empty of flowers. If you are lucky you could encounter even a few monkeys or capybara. Bring your mosquitoes repellent.
  • Absolutely gorgeous. Seems to have been recently upgraded. Many exotic plants and trees, very well kept and presented. Don’t miss the capibaras in the pond. The palm tree alley is majestic. Only 15r to get in. Excellent value and a nice change from the bustle of the city.
