  • The Botanical Garden is beautiful and breathtaking, that everyone knows, but the Staff is bad and various sectors of the Park, I arrived at the Orchard 15 minutes before the Park close and didn't get in, I argued that the Park is closing the 17:00 and the official ironically said that I wouldn't take 15 minutes and he needed to leave. Absurd!!! Another situation was that I took my professional camera for pictures, but the camera was professional, because I'm not nearly, was prevented from use even without obstructing paths or stepping on the grass. How could I not do anything spent on the playground and there I finally found someone to work, the ladies there was friendly and helpful with the visitors a sympathy.

  • A heaven of peace in the city. So relaxing the park is huge and very well taken care of. You can just walk around but also learn about the species of trees and exotic plants. Also if you are lucky you can bump into the small monkeys who live up the trees so prepare some bananas to try to interact or even see tucanos flying around. It worth at least 2 hours minimum there to visit even more.
  • A must visit place in Rio. This is huge park with several thousands of species of plants and trees. Good drinking water and restroom facilities are available. Easily accessible by public transport.
  • It's a good place to relax. A huge variety of plants and trees. Some I saw for the first time. There's a small lake in the centre and it is beautiful. R$ 15 entrance fee. Remember to pick a guide map from the office.
  • A large space with lots of botanical diversity, shade and fresh air in the city. The visit is a must, especially for those who like flowers. Go with comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. You can visit on hot days because the place is very wooded, leaving fresh environment. Go with time.
  • Go early to enjoy the early morning bird chorus. You can become a member of the Jardim association and enter the park 1h before it opens up to the general public.

Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
