Flamengo Beach, Rio de Janeiro

(2.7/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
With its side-on view of Sugarloaf Mountain, the landscape of Flamengo Beach has been painted and photographed countless times. Thanks to its incredibly fine, white sand, the beach is a hot spot for jogging, soccer, volleyball, and other beach sports. Unlike its world famous sibling the Copacabana, Flamengo Beach is frequented mostly by locals, and you are less likely to be hassled by hawkers and other tourist traps. Like all beaches in Rio de Janeiro, water quality is an issue, but this is steadily improving as the government implements better sewage treatment facilities. • I loved the place, very quiet, barely there and the water is not too cold! Just don't spend many stalls. As I didn't take almost nothing, had to eat what was going

  • Beach with views of the Sugar Loaf Mountain and on airplanes going on landing or taking off from the airport Santos Dumont. Airplanes sometimes so close and low to beat flew Sugarloaf that seemed they vrezhutsja) water is yellow, but pure sand too clean. There are no waves and can safely swim. The city is no worse than the Copacabana. On this beach is fabulous, people don't sit on each other's head as on the Beach and relax. Here you can rent a Sun umbrella and chairs, as well as buy beer and other drinks and snacks. This beach also hosts a festive new year's Eve, there is a scene where the whole night playing music and serve local communities. Fireworks shoot from three barges, not as big as at the Copacabana, but here was insane, I even fell in love with Rio after a meeting of the new year on this beach. On new year's Eve in front of the stage going local and organize whole picnics all families. Here you can see 8 people entrenched in the sand, making it a wall from the rest of the revelers. You can come across loud company ogorodivshie its place ribbons and submitting several tables and chairs on tables, plenty of food and booze. Here dancing, chatting, strolling. All come to the beach on new year's Eve in white robes and with white flowers, which are then thrown into the sea.

  • Family atmosphere, calm waters and warm. Good for a walk on the beach and/or on the Boardwalk that can be on foot or by bike.
