  • Before I left I went in this market and I was not on it I could find my Brazilian bikini, and pretty colorful held focus on space. But be aware that you have a distributor not far away. Regarding the rather reasonable price even if the trading is not always possible.

  • Do try Acarajye, Bahia food. Great street shopping. Painting choice. Leather stuff. .come for 4 hours to enjoy it. Lots of change money. Do bargain. Treat for eyes too. Be safe .
  • If you find yourself in Rio on a Sunday you MUST go to the hippie fair in Ipanema. It is a fantastic place to find low cost, quality souveniers, as well as unique finds for yourself. We were lucky to be in Rio over two Sundays and we went each time. The location is easy to reach whether in Ipanema, Copacabana, or anywhere else in Rio. Easy accessible by the Metro as it is literally at the Metro in Ipanema. TIP; when ready to eat, head over to Frontera. ( R. Visc. de Pirajá, 128 - Ipanema) Oh. My. Gosh. We cannot say enough about this -by the kilo- restaurant. The food is insanely delicious and the variety is astounding. Great for veggie loves as well as carnivores.
  • Open Sundays, a fun place to get a Brazilian souvenir, I found a tarp hat for 30 reals which was super fortuitous because I wanted to bring one back and this was literally the one place I came across one. As flea markets go this one was pretty big with all kinds of neat stuff, local art, trinkets, accessories, clothes. Bring a lot of smaller bills, it helps with the bargaining.
  • Nice local Fair, it's every Sunday morning (as far as i know) you have too look hard to find a good product, the majority of products are not impressive, but you can still find few nice items there. Of course you have to bargain for a good deal
  • Large outside market filled with art, souvenirs, leather goods and jewelry. Wasn't tempted by anything, but was good for 20 mins of walking around.
