The stadium will be an athletics venue for the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics. The stadium is known by a number of names. The nickname Engenhão refers to the location of the stadium. Since 2015 the Rio municipality has allowed Botafogo to refer to the stadium as Estádio Nilton Santos . The name honors Nilton Santos, regarded as one of the greatest defenders in the history of the game and a member of the World Team of the 20th Century. • Easy access, great infrastructure, well ventilated and a beautiful architecture. We attended 4 football matches of the Olympic Games Rio 2016 and we didn't have any problems at offset. We were staying in copacabana, we took the subway in the Cardeal Arcoverde station to Central of Brazil, where we exchanged the subway at supervia train (ext. Deodoro) that leaves you in the Engenho de Dentro station, in front of the stadium.

  • I went to the Gun's n Roses. It was quiet, no riot, there was policing, bathrooms clean and supplied with material.

  • We went to see the Athletics of the Paralympic Games. The stadium is a little away from the Center, but the experience was very good. The Engenhão is very beautiful and the structure to watch sporting events is great. The power supply was relatively expensive (as in all events of the Olympics) and was mounted a security scheme for the games. I don't know if other events follow this pattern.
