Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

Accommodations in Rio de Janeiro cover as diverse a spectrum as the city itself. At the top end, you can find plenty of luxury hotels along the beaches of Zona Sul, the city's southern zone, which includes the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. For something to suit a budget, but with good beach access, look around the less crowded neighborhoods of Catele and Flamengo. If you want to stay as centrally as possible, without feeling like you're in a business district, look for lodgings in the colorful, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa.

  • Beautiful and quiet. Location of the little-known River, however, a unique opportunity to have contact with nature almost untouched.

  • Bucolic place, and the origins of the city of Rio de Janeiro and the Tijuca forest of the last century. Some works of art of contemporary artists, and collections of dishes of the CIA and India Chinese objects of centuries past. Place to meditate and contemplate nature is thinking about what it was like to live with very green, perks and peace between the 19th century and early 20th century. Worth the visit. $2.00 entry. Super cheap for a walk with access by car. Easy parking.
