Catacumba Park, Rio de Janeiro

(4.5/5 based on 300 reviews on the web)
Designed as a sculpture park, Catacumba Park is also a tropical forest with many hiking trails under a lush canopy of native trees. You can always find cooler temperatures and a constant shade from the hot Brazilian sun here. After viewing sculptures in the lower section of the park, take a scenic trail up the hill, at top of which a panoramic view of the Lagoa district and the mountains of Dois Irmaos and Pedra da Gavea opens up. From here you can also see the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue. This park was developed on the site of a former favela, and currently offers a number of adventures to visitors, from rock-climbing and rappelling, to zip-lining and canopy walks through the treetops. • The Park requires provision to traverse the areas of activities. Offers adventure options for small, as climbing wall and zip line (paid attractions). Offers options of well signposted trails that are easy and possible to travel with children. Visual pays off!

  • At the Parque da Catacumba revigoro my energy. I'm always there. In September celebrated the sixth anniversary of my son, with many radical activities for the kids. The view from up there is jaw-dropping.
