Bosque da Barra, Rio de Janeiro

(4.2/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Bosque da Barra is 50 hectares (124 acres) of pure green right in the middle of the busy West Zone of the city. Close to the Avenue of Americas, this park was created with the goal of environmental preservation and protection of the natural landscape and local wildlife in an urban setting. Here you can see rare and endangered species of butterflies and orchids, native to this area. A wide variety of wildlife makes this a popular place for birdwatching. Tree-lined boulevards and trails are ideal for jogging, cycling, and long walks away from city traffic. There are also lots of grassy areas where you can picnic or play sports. With our international travel planner, Rio de Janeiro attractions like Bosque da Barra can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Free access to the Park. Ample parking and also free. Ideal for a picnic outdoors. A simple Park with lots of green. Currently is not as well maintained as well, but on the other hand also is not so released. But it's worth a walk by there on a weekend. There are playgrounds for children all over the Park. Many people celebrate birthday, do photographic essays out there, etc. In the middle of the Park has a Lake of medium size with some alligators. Unfortunately due to the lack of rain this Lake was not full when I went. Although it is well signposted with plaques about animals, take care of children, mainly in the area near the Lake (the alligators) and also on behalf of the Bush even, said to be home to snakes.

  • A bucolic place amidst the concrete jungle that if transformed the bar and its hellish traffic. Attention to safety. Isn't the best.

  • A huge grove in central neighborhood Barra da Tijuca. There's a small parking area, so you may have to park outside on a weekend or holiday. You can get there by BRT easily. This park is a good place for pratice running or walking, for picnics and to take kids for outdoor plays. If you are lucky you may cross with some capybaras family enjoying their day.
  • Lugar tranquilo...
  • Great place for walking and running! Also awesome to bring the kids.
  • Podia ter uma manutenção melhor.
  • Amo fazer piquenique e andar de bicicleta no bosque da barra.
