Bosque da Barra, Rio de Janeiro
(4.2/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Bosque da Barra is 50 hectares (124 acres) of pure green right in the middle of the busy West Zone of the city. Close to the Avenue of Americas, this park was created with the goal of environmental preservation and protection of the natural landscape and local wildlife in an urban setting. Here you can see rare and endangered species of butterflies and orchids, native to this area. A wide variety of wildlife makes this a popular place for birdwatching. Tree-lined boulevards and trails are ideal for jogging, cycling, and long walks away from city traffic. There are also lots of grassy areas where you can picnic or play sports. With our international travel planner, Rio de Janeiro attractions like Bosque da Barra can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Great place to hang out with the family, have a snack with children or even use the space for photo shoot. Worth knowing!

  • The Woods is a good place to spend an afternoon/morning (don't recommend going on extremely hot days) with the family, especially if you enjoy nature and have small children. Although, is located near a large Avenue, when you enters the place is the noise of nature that prevails and not the city's. For children the presence of animals such as agoutis, Capybaras, monkeys, caimans and other, makes the trip even more fun. How much of the tourist and leisure points of RJ maintenance leaves a little to be desired, but nothing that makes the ride!

  • I was at the Bosque da Barra, a very good place to spend the day. Very quiet ... It seemed like we were out of Rio de Janeiro. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the Woods, I didn't see a paper on the floor. There a sign not to lose ... kkk. There goes the tips:-get there early. Parking (free) is small and fills up fast. I had to park a street after. -Can cycling! You can explore the Woods riding or Park it in the bike rack that sits just at the entrance. Take your lunch and your drink. -Near the toilets have a drinking fountain available. -Take mosquito repellent and Cap. Don't forget sunscreen and hat for the sunny days.-Go to tennis. Short enough the place! Preserve the site and respect the animals! Don't feed them!

  • A huge grove in central neighborhood Barra da Tijuca. There's a small parking area, so you may have to park outside on a weekend or holiday. You can get there by BRT easily. This park is a good place for pratice running or walking, for picnics and to take kids for outdoor plays. If you are lucky you may cross with some capybaras family enjoying their day.
  • Lugar tranquilo...
  • Great place for walking and running! Also awesome to bring the kids.
  • Podia ter uma manutenção melhor.
  • Amo fazer piquenique e andar de bicicleta no bosque da barra.
