Beco das Sardinhas, Rio de Janeiro

(3.7/5 based on 65+ reviews on the web)
Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Beco das Sardinhas, situated on a historic pedestrian-only street in the city’s center. This cobblestoned "Sardine Alley" is home to numerous restaurants serving hot food right on the pavement. The place is busy and noisy, offering a taste of genuine Brazilian street life. At this site you can try the famous "frango maritime," or chicken of the sea, which is simply a dish of fresh sardines opened lengthwise, breaded, and then deep fried. These restaurants are open all day and often allow local bands to perform live music late into the night. Stop by for a tasty hot meal and a refreshing drink before exploring more of this city district rich in history and culture. • The dishes are delicious, the atmosphere of "Friday" is nice, service is fast, but the quality of the dishes has been better. Including the most famous establishments of the location, the quality of the main dish comes more so generous and some don't look fresh, but still worth it!

  • Another charming place and the carioca loves. Very good to enjoy the simplicity of a pub and having good conversations with friends and enjoy a delicacy. Fried sardines and cold beer are the cars.

  • In downtown Rio, is excellent to relax, eat a sardine and a cup of beer, in the hours of work or after the same. The Largo de Santa Rita itself is very nice, starting with the Church.

  • Nice for a birthday celebration, for example. Accepts large reserves and has good options of the meat dishes, rib barbecue is the most famous. Price a little expensive, can't go always. Has a German pie ice cream with dulce de leche which is delicious.

  • The Burger is great. The French fries are AWFUL, always seems burned and oily. Lack a milk Shake. The price is good.

  • The food is very good and cozy space. The price is a little higher than average, which makes the bistro ideal for special occasions, but you can find dishes on offer. The desserts are tasty and varied, but very small. The downside is the delay of the dish and the narrow corridor in the checkout line: customers vie for space with the waiters sometimes.

  • Great dishes, salty price for the region. Good cost benefit for lunch on Friday.
