Barra de Guaratiba Beach, Rio de Janeiro

(3.1/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Offering calm waters and a bit of remoteness rarely found so close to a big city, Barra de Guaratiba Beach is situated within an ecological reserve area. This beach, with its blue waters and white sands, is wedged between mangroves and the rainforest, so you can have lots of privacy far from other overcrowded beaches in this part of the country. The surrounding area is known for its many rustic restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy just-caught lobsters and fish, baked right before you and served hot. Don’t miss the region’s famous fish stew, which you can eat right on the sand, in the natural shade of tall native trees. Other nearby beaches can also be reached easily through a series of short trails. • Beach with calm seas and warm suitable for children. There is no infrastructure on the sea, you should take what you want to consume. We were in January and with children was very fruitful for everyone due to sea and tranquility without concentration of people. Recommend for those who want Good Beach and tranquility.

  • We went during new year's Eve with a baby. Marx is the only street coming to the beach which is the most accessible. The road pass cars, motorcycles, buses and it has no sidewalk. It is a place to visit by car or stay out of the central part. Perigoso Beach, there are many people camping. Grumari, while it is quite crowded, can't be. The village is small and until 2 am never stopped any movement which starts the next day very early. Let's say that it is a place of transit. It may be that they are solitary but off-season. Same Brazilians say that target is no longer what it was.

  • The beach is small and the water is calm. The beach is next to Marambaia and often appear turtles and many fish. The kiosks offer snacks in the sand and the price is right. Recommend the tour.
