Barra de Guaratiba Beach, Rio de Janeiro
(3.2/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Offering calm waters and a bit of remoteness rarely found so close to a big city, Barra de Guaratiba Beach is situated within an ecological reserve area. This beach, with its blue waters and white sands, is wedged between mangroves and the rainforest, so you can have lots of privacy far from other overcrowded beaches in this part of the country. The surrounding area is known for its many rustic restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy just-caught lobsters and fish, baked right before you and served hot. Don’t miss the region’s famous fish stew, which you can eat right on the sand, in the natural shade of tall native trees. Other nearby beaches can also be reached easily through a series of short trails. • Very quiet, peaceful beach ideal for children and the elderly for not being. Have to go too early because you don't have much room to stop the car and holiday weekends lota important information: it is too far away from downtown Rio and beaches bells as Copacabana. Worth the ride!

  • About 60 Km from the Centre of Rio de Janeiro, Praia da Barra de Guaratiba is the most distant, approximately 1:30 drive from Santos Dumont Airport and Galeão. But who wins the distance ends up finding other compensations. In addition to several bars and restaurants specialized in fruit and geladíssimas drinks, Taming there are several fishing trawlers that make delicious walks by the shore. In the Restinga de Marambaia, Navy Beach area of responsibility of the Guaratibada bar has the calminhas waters and inviting, but not too clean. Unfortunately I can see the sewage running in the open the sand in certain places. Even so, while in the winter the majority of the regulars is residents, in the summer it is crowded.

  • This neighborhood with beach and rural atmosphere is the best gastronomic pole town, its restaurants of "Aunts" which serve fish and fruits of the sea attracts residents of neighborhoods near the West and even distant South zone Rio, deserves a visit, especially if the path is done by the beautiful beaches of the Playground and the few explored along the Beach Road to Barra de Guaratiba , a little known by tourists, RJ but even more wonderful!
