Barra Beach, Rio de Janeiro

Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web
With over 15 km (9 miles) of white sand met by clear, blue-green ocean, Barra Beach is the largest beach in Rio de Janeiro, and the farther along it you go, the more deserted it becomes. The agitated waters attract surfers, windsurfers, body boarders, kite surfers, and fishing enthusiasts, and there is a high energy about the busier stretch, where you will see young people playing beach volleyball and soccer. In need of refreshment, you should visit Pepe, named in honor of the late champion hang-glider and regular of Barra Beach, where you will find great sandwiches and fresh natural juices. The quieter sweep of beach provides you with a tranquil paradise, and while it may not have many facilities, nor does it have any crowds. • Perfect on days of the week and in places without much movement because it is always full weekend I can't Park.

  • It is attractive to be little crowded, but it is not the best for swimming, and the tourist services either are the best compared to other beaches.

  • Praia da Barra is very popular. Receives visits from residents of all regions of Rio de Janeiro. And she's beautiful! In my opinion, the best place to stay is very close to the sea, where you can take beautiful pictures.
