  • You want peace and quiet for your family? The Central beach is a good choice. Calm waters, kiosks and a strip of sand but not enough. What suffers is the amount of slots to park but some houses offer options for 10 or 20 reais to park all day. Worth knowing.

  • Linda. But attendance of kiosks leaves something to be desired because of the movement. Water verrrrry cold and usually with few waves.

  • A little dangerous because of the waves, the more the amount of Saved lives in ensuring safety. Very nice ride,

Where to stay in Rio das Ostras

As a growing seaside resort destination, Rio das Ostras features a blend of old and new, glitzy and down-to-earth in terms of places to stay. The majority of the city's larger hotels and more glamorous resort-style accommodations lie within a few blocks of the main beaches, and the area along the Praia Costa Azul features a particular concentration. As you might imagine, many hotels charge extra for an ocean view, so consider requesting a room without one to save a bit on lodging. As is the case throughout Brazil, you'll find plenty of "pousadas"--something like independently run, small-scale hotels, bed and breakfasts, and guesthouses--scattered around town, which often make solid budget options.
