A great area that suffers with the abandonment on the part of the responsible agency, visited 6 months ago and what has changed is that the animals are very slim, several empty enclosures, I was able to witness the moment of attendant care for some animals and you can understand the good intention of the same, but there is a lack of resources that prevents the proper treatment of animals for sure the animals should be fed more than once during the day (I hope), I'm no expert but I think half a dozen apples per meal does not support a bear. The Japanese also abandoned garden, Lakes covered with leaves. Security is also precarious, throughout the zoo that is too large I noticed only 2 security guards, one in the lobby and another in the Japanese Garden (opposite side of the Ordinance), and both seats. If you can't afford to give a decent treatment to animals, that the transfer to other Zoos that have conditions of care.

Once in the Park are approached on the street by "keepers" that threaten if you don't pay before ... we feel coerced. The Park was packed and we travel it can be noted the lack of maintenance and care with the Park animals live in dirty places ... the Mandal take over where the birds ... the cats are thin and the smell is very strong in various environments. Sad to see a park so big ... so abandoned by the city!

Nice place overall. Not so good about parking your car though. There's no parking lot, so you have to park in the street, probably a little bit far from the entrance. Food is very simple. It's good to have some snacks and water, soda... I saw some complaints about maintenance, but there's not so much to improve. Looking for a stunning zoo? Get a African safari. Also, there's an entrance for a Japanese Garden (inside the zoo) with small lakes full of turtles and carps and a view-point to the city. A must-see!

A little bit run down looking, not well maintained. Free entrance.

Great zoo. The animals don't feel like they are caged. The Japanese garden is a must see. Perfect Panorama view of Ribeirão.
