  • The Museum presents a collection of engravings and Rico which tells part of the story of Recife/PE. The Museum has an attachment on the back of the building, where several collections exposed by history. A beautiful space, Woody, very well taken care of which deserves a visit of Recife and all who come to visit this beautiful city rich in history and culture.

  • An essential visit for anyone who wants to learn a little about the history of Pernambuco. The permanent exhibition begins with the dawn of civilization, with the archaeological findings of the earliest human occupations, through the indigenous civilizations and the arrival of the Europeans in Pernambuco and the influences of Afro-Brazilian culture. There are also some works of artisans of Tracunhaém and Olinda, Caruaru. After we visited the Villa of the 19th century, a beautiful property. In it, we could see a bit of intimacy of the residents, with photos, the dining room, a rich collection of porcelains, Catholic influences and a taste for music, with some musical instruments. That day we could also see an exhibition with the works made by students of the courses of painting on fabric and porcelain painting offered by the Museum. Finally, we appreciate good coffee in a coffee bus installed outside the Museum. The only caveat I do is with respect to the hours of operation on Sundays, which opens at 14:00 and closes at 17:00. Very short time for visitation. But from what I understand, it's a local custom, because other museums I wanted to visit that same day also worked in that same time.

  • The Museum of the State of Pernambuco, as the competent body and responsible for loading and operate under your title of the Society Museum makes exemplary manner. The structure presented improvements with the last few years and growing increase in technologies used for the management of visitors, and security management. Accessibility has been considerably increased. The Museum consists of two spaces: a "typical" Pernambuco mansion of the 19th century and Cícero Dias Space, where permanent and temporary exhibitions. Mediation in both environments is complete and optional-mediators communicate well with the visitor. Although your historical load, the Museum can and must be examined also from critical way; by loading the responsibility of representing the whole State of Pernambuco, should certainly have more diversity and connection with the reality of the communities to which your pernambucanas public to perhaps grow. On account of this impasse of historicity versus aristocratic historicity of the people, the Museum will eventually select even involuntarily a select audience too much. Despite this, the exhibits, especially the space Cícero Dias, realize that "missing" at the Museum. A recent exhibition that can show how the direction of the Museum are changing and if finding is the unreleased photographs of the life of artist Frida Kahlo. A large living room and with practical access, the exhibition shows something that might, for decades, would not be "mostrável" in a museum. Anyway, it's a nice atmosphere, large, frighteningly massive but which serves for educational purposes of how one day it worked the Pernambuco-society and show, with its gridlock, that it might work that way until today. Is a nice area for teachers bolarem educational activities and taking children, but always emphasizing values and questioning some aspects.

  • Well located, too bad the transit of Recife, which is unsustainable, makes him so bad here, but still worth the environment that provides space, an open area in the city of Recife, which every municipal management is more rare. I hope more public environments like this arise in Recife

  • In the 19TH century palace where he lived the son of the Baron of Beberibe, works since 1940 the Museum of the State of Pernambuco. Currently the collection of the State Museum has more than 14000 pieces, adding important collections that are distributed in the following categories: Archaeology, indigenous culture, Dutch Presence in Pernambuco, sacred art, Afro-brazilian, Ex-votes, Iconography, furniture, porcelain, Crystal and painting with artists such as screens, Cícero Dias, Telles Júnior, Francisco Brennand and Burle Max. In addition the Villa has space Cícero Dias and a place where are held courses and art workshops. The MEPE inaugurated recently the Palacete Estácio Coimbra, space that will portray as was a mansion of Pernambuco in the 19th century. Through texts, photographs and period furnishings, visitors can understand the history of the mansion. Seven conceptual nuclei in 12 comprise the environments Villa which has been refurbished in order to show how it worked a urban aristocratic residence for 200 years.
