Patio de Sao Pedro, Recife

3.8
Patio de Sao Pedro (Saint Peter's Square) sits in front of the Cathedral of Saint Peter of Clerics, surrounded by historic buildings in an assortment of Dutch, Spanish, and Portuguese styles, that speak of Recife's rich colonial history. As you explore the surrounding area, you will pass many cafes, bars, and restaurants, with tables spilling out onto the streets, perfect for whiling away an afternoon in the company of friends. • Lives full of drug addicts smoking marijuana and Crack. It was a good place to take kids. Cycling, see fish of the artificial ponds or take pictures. But now it's full of junkies and with them come the drug dealers and thieves (to the light of day). Get to this square in the late afternoon and the same as entering a "crack house". All kinds of fancy using outdoors.

  • The Church is beautiful. At the time of our visit was going through some repairs, but through the gate we can get an idea of how much of your beauty decoration details. The courtyard is formed by bars and cultural equipment such as museums. Are also promoted events from time to time, as various cultural presentations. The surroundings, acessoes for attention, because they are busy, with people coming and going, leaving and entered popular trade stores. But, one afternoon and preferably with friends recifenses, is a good thing to learn more about the reef.

  • The restaurant "the thing" has the best in local cuisine, in addition to hygiene of toilets and impeccable cuisine and personalized service and cold beer.

  • Nice place, but it's good to be smart with the surroundings (and if you're in the yard to visit to the market is fundamental).

Where to stay in Recife

It's no surprise that the vast majority of accommodations in Recife crowd around the city's long expanses of shorefront. Consider the southern coastal neighborhood of Boa Viagem for instant access to miles of vibrant beachfront, the prime location for locals and tourists alike to make the most of the sunshine. As well as high-end hotels and beach resorts, you can opt to stay in a range of fun, budget hostels, thanks to Recife's ever-growing popularity among backpackers. If you want something a bit quieter, look to the nearby historical town of Olinda, just 6 km (3.7) north of the city center. From there, you can easily make day--or night--trips to Recife proper.
