Beautiful place, beautiful sculptures, the problem is that there is no security ... be careful to take belongings, because always appear some armed bikers who Rob who's around.

Is town of sui generis sculptures, à la Francisco Brennand. Well taken care of at the beginning, now abandoned. By far (seen from Ground Zero), it is still interesting, but going to the other side (of little boat that comes out of the ground Zero or car doing a great turn by Brasilia Stubborn) can be dangerous in some timetables. I've had good lighting but, today, you can only take advantage of day if there's interest in the works of Brennand, a tour of the Studio of the artist in the Floodplain.

THE LOCATION IS BEAUTIFUL, I'M NOT A FAN OF THE ACCESS BY CAR TO THE LOCATION. BECAUSE WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH A NARROW ROAD AND WITHOUT HEAVY SECURITY. leaves us very worried about the maintenance of the Park and the safety of the site, however, the ferry crossing is pure adrenaline. We found the little boats at the pier at ground zero.

Great place to visit. Art and culture share the river. The access is by boat, leaving the ground Zero. The day I went, I paid 5 reais for the crossing. I found a little decayed and lightly desert. So you better watch out! 😉😉

Boat access by the square of the ground zero in old Recife. Price into account by the crossing. The sculptures are well worn by the action of time. The space is well abandoned. Worth it for the view.

Where to stay in Recife

It's no surprise that the vast majority of accommodations in Recife crowd around the city's long expanses of shorefront. Consider the southern coastal neighborhood of Boa Viagem for instant access to miles of vibrant beachfront, the prime location for locals and tourists alike to make the most of the sunshine. As well as high-end hotels and beach resorts, you can opt to stay in a range of fun, budget hostels, thanks to Recife's ever-growing popularity among backpackers. If you want something a bit quieter, look to the nearby historical town of Olinda, just 6 km (3.7) north of the city center. From there, you can easily make day--or night--trips to Recife proper.
