  • PALACE OF THE PRINCESSES (as opposed to the Praza Da República) is the seat of the Government of the State of Pernambuco and is located across from the square of the Republic in the area of Santo Antonio. It was built in 1841 by the count of Boa Vista and modified in 1859 on the occasion of the visit of Emperor Pedro II who the Empress Teresa Cristina and her daughters accompanied. Was decorated in style French of fashion in it time and Recife was considered it "Paris of the tropics" a stained glass in it entry represents the revolution Republican of Pernambuco of 1817. The free guided tour through the Hall of flags, the Gallery of Governors and the Governor's Office. From the terrace you can see the gardens that were designed by the landscape architect Burle Marx, the street of the Aurora and the legislature are on the other side the Capibaribe River. For visits: make an appointment en:visitapalacio@governaduria.pe.gov.br schedules for: Thursday and Friday from 9 to 11 and 14 to 16 pm, Sundays from 10 to 12 pm for up to 75 people per shift and take into account that can not be entered with shorts, miniskirts or flip flops

  • The beautiful architecture of the building already draws attention. Go to the middle of the square, near the fountain to get a good distance away from the building and get a good photo of the facade. If you want to visit the Campo das Princesas Palace go on Thursday or Friday or Sunday, recalling that on Thursday and Friday has Office hours (seat of Government) and can not enter in shorts, tank top or slipper; It seems that on Sundays there are no restrictions as to the costume, since there's no work. So you need to be programmed before, since the city is hot and 99% of tourists roam bermuda, sailing and exactly slipper! Be sure to see the many attractions in the region and access can be done on foot, with a nice walk, following a map offered in one of several CATs in town

  • Super preserved Palace. Just saw on the outside so much during the day as at night. Flawless paint! In front is a garden that was closed. But the view from the outside already was worth it. It's not every day you see a tree so majestic as the Baobab. Recommend.
