  • Thought of Recife, thought of Frevo. So a visit to the Palace of Frevo is interesting to know a little more about this rhythm of Pernambuco contagious! The facilities are in a nice building close to the old Recife. Sometimes on the top floor roll some presentations if you show the ticket from the pier of the outback you get a discounted entry

  • A beautiful place, which is the whole story of frevo from Pernambuco, with photos, music, videos and chronology of events. Recommend.

  • Worth the visit. You pay a price to get in, students and seniors pay half price. I was a little lost when I got here, because the location does not have a proper Guide. You have the option of going up the elevator to the third (top) and go down the stairs to find out what's in each room. Bad access for the disabled. At the entrance to each room you will find an employee willing to pass information and interactions that the room offers. Pity that all this is not very clear. I went up the elevator and went down to the first floor, there was nothing. As the site is also a school of music and dance, I was wandering the empty rooms until you find me. But, after that it was all great. Don't miss the presentation of the history and of the frevo steps on the third floor with the dance itself at the end. Note 10 to this part

  • I really like to know a little more of our culture. When I went, I was with frevo class for children and a small demonstration of the dance frevo. Recommend to everyone!

  • A magical place (and required) on the trajectory of frevo in Pernambuco. After the visit, which is free for students of Federal universities, you can immerse yourself in this story-so this until today-a step there, and another here in the streets of the former. Come one, 2000 times to be able to understand every little thing so much color and rhythm.

Where to stay in Recife

It's no surprise that the vast majority of accommodations in Recife crowd around the city's long expanses of shorefront. Consider the southern coastal neighborhood of Boa Viagem for instant access to miles of vibrant beachfront, the prime location for locals and tourists alike to make the most of the sunshine. As well as high-end hotels and beach resorts, you can opt to stay in a range of fun, budget hostels, thanks to Recife's ever-growing popularity among backpackers. If you want something a bit quieter, look to the nearby historical town of Olinda, just 6 km (3.7) north of the city center. From there, you can easily make day--or night--trips to Recife proper.
