  • Who imagines that the Sertão is only sorrow and misery is completely wrong and be surprised when visiting the Museum from the Hinterland, because this visit will be able to help you (the) demystify prejudices and stereotypes. Located in old Recife near Ground Zero, easy access, is ample space (still under construction, will be larger), clean, maintained and organized (something rare in Recife), interactive, which shows the reality of the Semi-arid in the grandeur, beauty and joy, whereas, also, of course, the difficulties and the temporal limitations and materials for which your pass people in long periods of drought, but that also don't lose confidence and hope in the future. I don't know if I go back to the reef, but if I ever go back, for sure, I will go again to the Museum from the Hinterland. Therefore, I recommend a visit!

  • Great place to visit and learn more about the sertão (inlands), its people, customs and landscape. They play a very beautiful movie worth watching. Don't miss it.  more »

  • Vale a pena
  • -Description the Museum Pier of the Outback is in old Recife and is still under construction. The part open to the public is quite interesting and reveals important aspects of life in the backwoods and also some local personalities. Admission is free on Thursdays, closed on Sundays and $10.00 entry (full price) and $5.00 (half). -Activities the Museum is interactive and technological enough. It is possible to walk through replicas of houses from inside, listen and sing in the studios of singers such as Luiz Gonzaga songs, watch movies, interact with the digital tables and choose about what the universe Northeastern wishes to learn, play traditional instruments, in addition to appreciate the local crafts (sewing, embroidery, sculptures, etc). -NEARBY the Museum is located in the city center of the capital of Pernambuco. Next to the Museum you will find other museums that are worth knowing and make the ride more complete and ensuring of the day, such as:-Museum Palace of Frevo-Torre Malakoff-Cultural-Center Craft Box-Ground Zero there is still in the region the Paço Alfândega Shopping Mall and several restaurants, snack bars and cafes around the region. Everything so close giving it to walk.

Where to stay in Recife

It's no surprise that the vast majority of accommodations in Recife crowd around the city's long expanses of shorefront. Consider the southern coastal neighborhood of Boa Viagem for instant access to miles of vibrant beachfront, the prime location for locals and tourists alike to make the most of the sunshine. As well as high-end hotels and beach resorts, you can opt to stay in a range of fun, budget hostels, thanks to Recife's ever-growing popularity among backpackers. If you want something a bit quieter, look to the nearby historical town of Olinda, just 6 km (3.7) north of the city center. From there, you can easily make day--or night--trips to Recife proper.
