  • Interesting to visit, but it was not all that promising. Should have a greater variety of dolls.

  • The giant puppets tradition of building giant puppets emerged in Europe, probably during the middle ages. Started with the pagan religions, in the expression of its myths. Were long hidden, for fear of the Inquisition. Arrived in Brazil with the Portuguese, parading in processions and religious festivities in the figure of buffoons or reproducing Catholic Saints.

  • Simple place, where some dolls are exposed. The day I went, I was really full. The visitor experience could be better if there was no explanation of how dolls are made and if it were possible to "control" any of them.

  • Visit a Museum is to know a great culture to which we can travel back in time and learn new things. Excellent!

Where to stay in Recife

It's no surprise that the vast majority of accommodations in Recife crowd around the city's long expanses of shorefront. Consider the southern coastal neighborhood of Boa Viagem for instant access to miles of vibrant beachfront, the prime location for locals and tourists alike to make the most of the sunshine. As well as high-end hotels and beach resorts, you can opt to stay in a range of fun, budget hostels, thanks to Recife's ever-growing popularity among backpackers. If you want something a bit quieter, look to the nearby historical town of Olinda, just 6 km (3.7) north of the city center. From there, you can easily make day--or night--trips to Recife proper.
