Aurora Street, Recife
(3.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Aurora Street is a fine example of European colonial architecture. Aurora means “sunrise”, and the street got its name from the fact that all the buildings are facing east. The street is lined with lush gardens and elegant Dutch architectural buildings. • From far away, across the River Valley pictures. The street itself is everything a little long in the tooth. Thinking of some ancient constructions are charmosinhas, has no great attractions and are well mostly old. In addition, along the street don't see a coffee, a snack bar for example to rest of the walk.

  • AURORA STREET three bridges over the Capibaribe River, unite this street of the Aurora with the Rua do Sol at the District of Sto Antonio and they are the Princess Elizabeth, the bridge Dante Coelho bridge and the bridge of Boa Vista. On this avenue have been built important buildings such as the Museum of history Natural Louis Jacques Brunet in the gym of Pernambuco, the Joaquim Nabuco Palace which is the seat of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Pernambuco, the Museum of modern art Aloísio Magalhães to name only the most important. The night catamaran ride allows you to see all of these and other beautifully illuminated buildings. On the opposite side there are buildings like the town hall with the mural of Luiz Gonzaga, (the King of the Baión of the ' 40s) made by the muralist artist Eduardo Kobra.

  • Good to see the view of the Capibaribe River and the Centre of Recife, but the region might be less abandoned. Very awful stench and pollution. Best to go during the day. At night there's no security.
