  • The waterfall is beautiful and worthy of the effort of your trail. I believe that by your not so simple to access, she is still quite preserved. The area of the waterfall is a clearing in the woods with a lush vegetation composed of tall trees, rocks, driftwood, aquatic vegetation and undergrowth, beaches and plenty of water in the form of steam on the waterfall (and hence the name Fog). Has area for camping with small beaches, make bonfires and even zip line. The your access begins to find the correct location of the site which gives access to the track (not that simple). On the road of Balbina (AM240), between km 50 and 51, gets a place on the right side of the track in order to Balbina (with an entry composed of a wooden fence and entrance for cars-location for GPS S02 01,715 '; W059 35,524 '). After that, between and Park your car under the trees of the site next to the houses of those who take care of the place. These are very helpful. Pay the actual 10 per person. The lady who takes care of the site will indicate where the trail begins. The trail is very well defined, clean and easy route, even though in your vast majority in dense forest. The whole route, according to the GPS device that we use (Garmin), is 6.32 km between the beginning of the track is still in place until the arrival of the pto waterfall. These were made in 1:30 on the way. The trail is fairly flat across your path, revealing a small stretch of slope near the waterfall. This excerpt is a descent of about 35 m composed of rungs formed by the roots of trees and with a lot of point mounted armrests (which makes it relatively easy to your descent/ascent, though exhausting). During the course you will be accompanied by the captain's corner, a bird that sings in the presence of "invaders". The location of the waterfall is S02 03,919 '; 34,167 W059 '. Missing less than 1 km to the waterfall, there will be some sort of portal indicating the waterfall. Make a hit within the day to this waterfall requires a bit of fitness (muscular endurance) but nothing on athletic level. Just be aware that it's a long walk. We did that and back and, although exhausting, it wasn't complicated. Recommend paying attention to the time that begins the excerpts (it is not advisable to be in the Woods after dark). We dispense the Guide for this track and we ended up saving enough ($ 100/head). Finally, the accompaniment of a guide proved really unnecessary for the issues mentioned above. Tips: plenty of water, closed shoes (tennis), light clothes and food for a snack at the waterfall if you decide for a hit and back. Remember, bring a plastic bag and bring all your trash with you.

  • 6.5 km trail, one of the largest waterfalls in the region. the guide is very important, especially by the presence of wild animals on site.

  • Passing a bit of km 50 of balbina (must be informed about the place of entry and have good eye), you are received at the entrance of the small place and have the opportunity to take a nice cupuaçu, juice or buy pulp (recommend), plus pay for entrance. Now comes the hard part: are approximate 7 km of track (some say reaches 8, some say no 7, the stories are several), but one thing is certain: you will walk for about 2 hours or 2 and a half hours, without doing a lot of pause, and fast-paced. In the end, the sound of the fall is rewarding! There is a small descent at the end, to arrive at the place of set-up of the tents. With luck, a few glasses or even a pot, of previous tours, and a mini inside to bonfire (if it complicates things a bit). as the waterfall is one of the most isolated in the region, it is possible to find wildlife, such as sloths, yellow or even small alligators and snakes. Watch the trails of termites, at night, they are aggressive and give painful bites. Usually appear harvestmen (small pets that look like spiders but are not dangerous) and with luck you can see amblipígios or Scorpions. At the time of the flood the fall is quite strong, so it's dangerous up access (whereas you are several kilometers inside the Bush, it's not worth the risk of an accident). In the dry season, there is a access on top, where you can enter in a small cave. It is wonderful to take pictures and take a shower. To top it off, the room for swimming is great and the water is perfect, you only need the careful with rocks and sticks. A starry sky closes the day and stay away from any problems and bad thoughts. In fact, one of the greatest treasures of the region is there. schedule at least one day and one night to meet this beautiful location! :)
