Imbassai Beach, Praia do Forte

(4.2/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
An alternative to a saltwater beach, Imbassai Beach snuggles up to a river where you can swim in fresh water. You can also explore the plant life along the banks or simply rest by the water. Traditional restaurants, or barrcas, dot the landscape and serve salty, fried snacks. For a less expensive option, bring a picnic or take an inexpensive raft ride down the river to find other eating options. • Spacious beaches, dunes, Palm trees, sand and good service of gastronomy in the beach bars.

  • We were hosted in Praia do Forte and went to pass the day to Imbassai (in bus, approx 20 minutes of travel, you leaves in the route and walk during 15 minutes to get to the beach). There converge a river with the sea, with what you have option to swim in the River (quite clean water) or on the other side, in light blue sea, with extensive sand and not very strong waves. There are several hostels in the beach that you offer a sunshade with chairs and folding chairs only by a consumption (without price minimum). Excellent for a day of beach! Totally recommended.

  • I was in an area in the back of the hotel Costa dos coqueiros. An area at the top, with access to the beach, with several tables and grassy sun loungers, male and female bathroom and shower with fresh water. A charming place! The waiter who entertained me was extremely nice, courteous. There's "a la carte" meals and also lunch per kilo. The beach of Imbassaí is beautiful, but strong. Unfortunately I lost my sunglasses in this sea.
