  • Also known as Church do Senhor dos Passos. Despite the controversies that I could find there are those who say that it is the first church built in the Brazil. It would actually date from 1526, although some say that it is from 1530. Originally built with rammed earth and should be rebuilt in 1535. The current appearance dates from 1776. Its interior has a very primitive style with images of Baroque style, being one of the most prominent of the Senhor de Passos of 1585, featuring glass eyes, teeth of ivory, natural hair hair and tiny droplets of blood made with rubies. There is also a life-size carved wooden crucified Christ on the building runs the Museum of sacred art of the city

  • I went for a holiday in November and was closed. I don't know the reason. Stay Uptown, next to the historic centre.

  • Since the discovery there, expect to find a Rico and varied collection of Sacred pieces and historical value, but it wasn't like that, with few pieces on display and part in restoration (we reported) we were able to enjoy only a few available on the day , where I highlight the image of St. Francis of Assisi, dating from the 16TH century it was brought by Franciscan priests to the first church built in Brazil, is not allowed to photograph or film, she can be seen in this information panel at the entrance, along with the image of the crucified.
