  • The site belongs to the Navy of Brazil, but is open to the public to enjoy the beautiful view that the site provides. The only problem is that there are no signs to get there, you have to go out asking and getting into a alley in front of lottery in Providenciales.

  • Porto de Pedras is beautiful! The fact that I stayed in a guesthouse in the city gave me the opportunity to know a little about the customs of the natives. The combination of the beach, the coconut palms and natural pools with contact with shellfish pickers and fishermen, by the morning or early evening is a gift for life! The quiet life of residents, the chairs on sidewalks, the "sale" of an old man with white hair, the vision of an artisan in the door of the House to weave and chat with neighbors, all this soothes and restores the energy for the year. I had the chance to walk on the beach early and, in many places, experience the feeling of being alone in the immensity of the sea, the beaches and coconut trees. In rare moments, found with a Walker. I saw some women pickers of seafood and traded with them. The fishermen in their ' jangadinhas ', the fish mullets, were also a good show! Praia do Patacho added a beauty aside, in my walks. Is it possible to make long walks by the sand, because the beaches offer no barriers and nor are rugged. Only in Porto de Pedras stay tuned, in small portions, small spongy stones that can cause some topadas. Nothing serious! Only justify the name of the place!! Another nice detail is the set of houses in the city. Put your attention on the strong colors of the houses, in some details of Windows and doors and in the houses of fishermen on the beach, today more supportive, woven of straw. Some already suffer the influence of some modern detail, but without losing the essential characteristic of the building. The Church and its square give the air of bucolic small towns. Good restaurants and at least a good pizzeria. The people are hospitable and kind. You will always hear a jolly good day! Worth staying a few days in Porto de Pedras.

  • The lighthouse, viewed from the town, is thought-provoking. rises a steep enough slope, although short, cobbled (cars can get) and arrive at the lighthouse with a plate not exactly inviting. The gates were open, however, and went to check it out. a cross pointing to the sea, a view that allows you to look for the Atlantic forest or the ocean around around the lighthouse. Being in Porto de Pedras, for those who like to consider looking at the horizon, is a must!
