Island Nature / Park
900 m (0.6 miles) off the coast of Porto Belo and surrounded by calm, crystal-clear water, is the beautiful nature reserve of Ilha de Porto Belo. A well-marked hiking trail through the lush flora leads you to amazing panoramic views, and along the way, your guide will show you different native species of both plants and animals. To learn more about the history of the island, you can visit the small “ecomuseu”, with its interesting display of archaeological and biological finds. Back on the white sand beach, the island’s restaurant serves up regional food with a fresh contemporary twist, and you can also rent equipment for diving, kayaking, and waterskiing. • Great place to relax and spend the day with family. Excellent natural scenery and clean water.

  • Difficult to assess. The place is nice more as time was short residence time is very short, we went on a boat out of Firecrackers, which forces you to choose between eating, or see the place, we chose to eat, simply no time left to see the place. The place is nice has the runway in the middle of the vegetation. Like I was told if it is in the city of Porto Belo and take a boat from there straight to the island can make an appointment for you at the end of the day, so to get the most out of the island.

  • The island of Porto Belo is full of mysticism for those who don't know. The crossing can be made with the boatmen to take you to the island and you can enjoy a hot Beach and view the arts of ancient people in the Museum. There is a trail to do on the island very interesting too.

  • Great option for a family or friends, eat on the island is the strong, prices are salty and no options, the cost to reach the island makes up for the beauty that is there.

  • Paradise, only place that season crowd tourists in a very low place. The bars have earned a place at the beach and there is almost no place to walk very comfortable. Nature is exuberant and crystal clear waters.

Where to stay in Porto Belo

With the municipality's settlements largely located by the water, the vast majority of the area's accommodations cluster in the coastal towns of Porto Belo and Bombinhas. In both, you'll find quite a diverse selection of grand resort-style complexes and villas. Simple guesthouses here offer budget rooms, while the bigger resorts charge more for sea views and amenities. A couple of taller, straightforward hotels have been built in the last few years, offering basic rooms at fairly low prices, but they lack the character and charm of some of the older buildings.
