  • If you love books, this is the time to visit Porto Alegre. Is happening in Porto Alegre the 63rd book fair. The event began on 1st and continues until 19 November day in Customs square, in the heart of the city. Parallel activities happen at your surroundings: Santander Cultural, Rio Grande do Sul Memorial, Museum of Arts (MARGS), Centro Cultural CEEE Érico Veríssimo, public records of the State, Cine Santander Cultural, Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana, among others. A real cultural Marathon. Are 110 exhibitors, in addition to over 800 attractions for adults and children, including public lectures, debates, evening parties and autograph sessions. Among the guest writers are the Mozambican Mia Couto, the philosopher Luiz Felipe Pondé 's songs, the author Nun Coen, besides Claudia Tajes, Letícia Wierzchowski, Klee, Antonio and Gregorio Duvivier, among others. Already the main honorees are the countries of the region in Scandinavia, in Northern Europe. The full schedule is on the site of the book fair. The photos are of fair disclosure.

  • A nice place to pass by, but not for staying too long. It has a few dodgy people around. Be careful and take some pictures. It's always better to go there in big groups. People who steal around there do so by grabbing the item and running. Therefore, look around being using electronic devices. There are some local markets there on weekends and some weekdays.
  • Near the Central Market. You must stop by if you're visiting downtown Porto Alegre. On the southern side (away from the water) are vendors from whom you can buy souvenirs, hats, chimarrao kits, leather/faux goods. The southern side has two quality museums, one of which has free entry. Good photo ops at the park. You can take your phone out, but don't be careless.
  • This place is beautiful, it is surrounded by museums and historic places. Once a year they run a massive book fair here, which is very famous as well. Be careful around here, thieves may be in action.
  • Beautiful square, lots of green and benches. Just be careful at night
