  • Sit under their shady trees and take a mate watching passersby is a good option. Visit the many craft stalls that are around the square is another interesting invitation!

  • Square filled with historical buildings and museums, worth the visit. When I went was having the book fair at the site. A huge fair with great variety, but I hurt a little to take pictures of buildings.

  • Recommend going only at the time of the book fair, otherwise it's too crowded and sometimes dangerous. In the city centre.

  • A nice place to pass by, but not for staying too long. It has a few dodgy people around. Be careful and take some pictures. It's always better to go there in big groups. People who steal around there do so by grabbing the item and running. Therefore, look around being using electronic devices. There are some local markets there on weekends and some weekdays.
  • Near the Central Market. You must stop by if you're visiting downtown Porto Alegre. On the southern side (away from the water) are vendors from whom you can buy souvenirs, hats, chimarrao kits, leather/faux goods. The southern side has two quality museums, one of which has free entry. Good photo ops at the park. You can take your phone out, but don't be careless.
  • Local inseguro e sujo.
  • This place is beautiful, it is surrounded by museums and historic places. Once a year they run a massive book fair here, which is very famous as well. Be careful around here, thieves may be in action.
  • Tava cagando de medo de ser assaltado. Porto Alegre está difícil. Tenho medo de ir aí.
