  • The Museum of Porto Alegre Joaquim Felizardo is based on big Solar Lopo Gonçalves luso-colonial style built between 1845 and 1853 and located in old street shore, current street João Alfredo, 582 in Porto Alegre, the building originally served as the residence for the family of Lopo Gonçalves, merchant, philanthropist and politician. The building was declared on 21 December 1979, and in 1980 began the work of restoration of the Manor, being opened in 1982 and where he moved the Museum, originally called the Museum of Porto Alegre and you had your name changed to Museum of Porto Alegre Joaquim José Felizardo, through municipal law, in order to honor the historian and creator of the Municipal Secretary of culture. The Museum's mission is to promote the interaction of the company with the cultural heritage of the city, with emphasis on your history and memory, through the preservation, research and communication of cultural property under your guard and was reopened on 17 December 2007, after undergoing extensive restoration and reorganization, housing a varied collection that tells a little of the history of the city through exhibitions, pictures, objects and documents. The building has a very nice architecture and although it is deep in the heart of the lower town, is located in the midst of an extensive green area which is regularly used to promote cultural and musical events. We do the visitation to the site on a weekday around 16 hours and strangely stayed inside the Museum about a half an hour alone, because there was no one on site to receive visitors or guide, when we were just leaving went into the garden and found a boy who told us that visiting the green area of the funds was closed. This sure was a strange and picturesque situation and perhaps it is for this reason that we have not tapped the potential of the Museum and end up leaving with the impression that the collection was rather limited. As a curiosity it's very interesting to visit the basement of the building, as it is the site where formerly stood in the slave quarters of the old House.

  • The Museum of PORTO ALEGRE has a forest on the bottom with lawn and pine. Sunday, March 19, 2017, had activity: picnic, food-truck and music. Installed in Solar Lopo Gonçalves, built between 1845 and 1855, presents temporary exhibits, promotes courses, debates, workshops and other cultural activities

  • Is a Museum in the Bohemian town. It is interesting to go there and spend the day in the neighborhood, to extend to the parties.

  • A nice historical building with a beautiful garden, good to take some time out and relax.

  • A peaceful place with the charm of the old yards of a Porto Alegre who is no longer so easily. Beautiful old building with an old Camellia in front of remembering the past the original property owner abolitionist. Mulberry trees give shade and fruit to birds. The museum itself should enhance your collection of antique pieces, but counters the scarcity of material with the authenticity of the place and the good work of Archeology and history.
