Cascata das Antas, Pocos de Caldas

(3.6/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
A home for ruins and water, Cascata das Antas is a beautiful location for nature walks and photo ops. There you'll find the ruins of a building reclaimed by vines and trees. The structure probably spent its functional life as a church, but now those memories are lost to time and what remains is protected by the forest's arms. The cascades themselves are a sight to behold, with water flowing over smoothed rock in a sheet of white spray. Be sure to wrap your camera in plastic to protect it from the cascade's shower. • I've been in Antas Cascade with my three daughters (15, 10 and 08 years of age). Lots and lots of rain in the past few days, so the waterfall was pretty full ... what a beautiful thing ... made beautiful photos. We also saw the dam waters. Don't visit the ruins alas, because the rain pulled, open trade in place nor toilets.

  • The place is nice to know. Good place to photograph having a waterfall in the background, beyond the ruins of the plant. Does not have a good infrastructure in bathrooms and food. On the day I went, there were two hawkers selling ice cream to water. Good place to park and easy access to arrive by car.
