Cascata das Antas, Pocos de Caldas
(3.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
A home for ruins and water, Cascata das Antas is a beautiful location for nature walks and photo ops. There you'll find the ruins of a building reclaimed by vines and trees. The structure probably spent its functional life as a church, but now those memories are lost to time and what remains is protected by the forest's arms. The cascades themselves are a sight to behold, with water flowing over smoothed rock in a sheet of white spray. Be sure to wrap your camera in plastic to protect it from the cascade's shower. • The view of the waters of the waterfall is beautiful, but the environment is degraded. Impossible to use the toilets, dirty. There is no infrastructure (there should be a restaurant but is closed without explanation). only one track with the names of trees and fauna existing on the site, which is an interesting point.

  • The waterfalls of Antas Cascade enchant visitors that enjoy a place where nature and technology combine: to Antas I hydroelectric power plant is one of the symbols of the beginning of the modernization of the municipality and its sustainability in electric distribution. On site there are also the ruins of the first hydroelectric constructed in the municipality.
