Our Lady of Rosario church, Pirenopolis
(4.1/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Destroyed by a fire in 2002, the Our Lady of Rosario church is reconstructed and has reclaimed its place as a center of religious and cultural life. Inside, you'll see wooden beams making angles across white walls. Small alcoves in these walls protect the iconography of the church while the front altar contains the churches most sacred ritual objects. You'll find a display profiling the church's reconstruction after the fire near the entryway of the building. Each brick was relaid with care by the community that the church serves. • Very beautiful church. Combines with the rest of the buildings in the historic town. Don't visit the interior.

  • Igreja Matriz Pirenópolis, in colonial style was built so that the Sun at any time of the day, brighten its facade. The high altar is Baroque style and the central throne is the image of our Lady of the Rosary and in the niches on the sides the images of Saint Vincent de Paul and St. Joseph. Very pretty. Worth the visit.
