Lazaro and Santa Maria Waterfall, Pirenopolis

4.5
#2 of 13 in Parks in Pirenopolis
The natural beauty of Lazaro and Santa Maria Waterfall will mesmerize you. Located in Reserva Ecológica Vargem Grande, a privately owned nature reserve, you reach both falls by taking a well-maintained, paved trail through dense vegetation. First you will come to Cachoeira Santa Maria, and after a dip in its cool waters, you can sunbathe on the pretty, white beach. Cachoeira do Lázaro is another 1,500 m (0.9 miles) hike over trickier terrain but well worth the effort. The larger of the two, Lázaro is less visited but visually more stunning, with several flows of water cascading over the rocks. • Close to the city, with bathrooms and small snack. Has 2 Waterfalls, one of them with beach, hot tub on stone and a trail for those who want to explore more. The best option for those who will be shortly in Pirenópolis. @Pitadadesal tip

  • Well, I arrived at the site with the goal of staying in Santa Maria waterfall, as am I and sedentary do the trail to the waterfall of Lazar. However, when I saw the paved trail and all bounded, I took courage and went, myself. Did my stops to rest and drink water (which is nice to have in the bag) and when I heard the waterfall from afar and I began to feel the water on my face, I felt it was going to be rewarded ... the waterfall is beautiful too, is shallow and made it back under the fall without much effort . Feel the water fall in the body is the reward ... is a time to renew your energy. After relaxing, I went to the Santa Maria waterfall ... which eventually lose a little funny, because we can't stand under the waterfall. But it was worth it! NOTE: in both the waterfalls have lifeguards.
