Igreja de Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, Pirenopolis

(200+ reviews on the web)
Recent renovations revealed beautiful paintings adorning the walls and ceiling of this small 18th century church, and you can see them in all their former glory thanks to extensive restoration work. Sitting high on a hill in the heart of Pirenópolis, Igreja de Nosso Senhor do Bonfim is an excellent example of colonial architecture, and the two bell towers are home to four of the oldest bells in Goiás. The largest of its three altars has an intricate carving of the crucifixion, which locals look to for blessings before embarking on long journeys. • I was and I couldn't go because I was in shorts, as well as reported by another post here ... Anyway, didn't seem something not to be missed.

  • Located right in the city centre, in the Plaza of the same name, is a beautiful church and yielding beautiful photos. A shame we never got in, the first time I went in the year 2009 it was closed on Monday. And now years later and with the revitalized Church, we were told that you can't visit wearing shorts or short, and, above all, the visit is paid.
