Sertao Museum, Piranhas

3.4
Sertao Museum is a simple museum showcasing the hard life under the rule of the coroneis (local political masters with engrossing power), weapons used by outlaws, Brazilian cowboys and smugglers. There are photos that show the history of the region, a collection of items from Lampiao, who was a famous Brazilian bandit leader in the last century, and whose exploits turned him into a “folk hero”. There is also a replica of a plaster house used by the local people. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Piranhas holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Sertao Museum and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

The Museum of the outback, located in the beautiful building of the former railway station of the city of Piranhas is small, simple, cramped. Contains some parts used in the daily life of the backcountry of the 19th and 20th centuries, some curiosities and some panels with photos and texts about the highwaymen and the most famous represantante, your Lantern. I don't consider indispensable. If you have an afternoon available in town might be a good distraction, is cheap ticket (R $2.00 in September 2017) and there are even curious parts, but there are other most significant attractions and worth really worth spare more time and attention. You're not going to do so much longer visit him a stay in Piranhas.

The Museum is small but reports some things do sertão, very interesting. I think that could be further explored and disseminated.

The Museum is small and doesn't have a large arsenal of stuff, however, the historic setting and all utensils make you "travel" on the trip.

Exposes very well the art and history of Sergipe, a lot of interactivity and diversity to discover and learn.

It is a small museum with very small holdings and tells the story of the hinterland and the Sertão, including pieces taken from the place of death of Lantern. The big difference is the local guide, Simone, which gives a real history lesson and makes the little collection look like giant. A pity that I was late and couldn't enjoy more.

Very small, with some trivia. Worth the visit to illustrate the knowledge about the cangaço.
